NeighborQuad

Find friends where you live.

A secure, 1:1 local friendship platform for meeting people who live nearby. Testing in Newburgh and Evansville now.

Hi, I’m Dom.

My wife and I have toddlers who’ll be starting elementary school soon. We’ve been curious about which families nearby have kids around the same age, especially those who might end up in the same class. It would be great to get to know one another and see if our families click.

After moving to Newburgh a few years ago, we learned firsthand that building friendships in a new place takes time. What’s surprising is that even in such a connected world, it can still be hard to meet people right in your own neighborhood.

So I’ve been experimenting with a simple idea to make that easier. I built a prototype of a map where you can browse anonymous profiles pinned to approximate locations, showing neighbors who are open to meeting others nearby. It’s designed to help people connect when they move, or when they enter a new life stage and want to find a new circle.

I’d love for you to give it a try and share your feedback. And if you’re not quite ready to jump in, you can join our email list to stay in the loop and create a profile whenever the time feels right.

See you around,

-Dom (aka Neighbor #1)

See who’s in your neighborhood.

Privacy first: Locations are approximate and identities stay anonymous until you both choose to connect.

FAQ

  • NeighborQuad helps you meet real people who live near you—without the awkwardness, noise, or data-selling nonsense of traditional social apps.

It’s designed for people who want a small, trusted circle, not 500 shallow connections.

  • People who:

    • Recently moved

    • Work remotely or hybrid

    • Have families and limited free time

    • Want local friends but hate forced networking

    • Want the benefits that social media fails to deliver

If you’re looking for genuine, low-pressure connections close to home, you’re in the right place.

  • Simple:

    1. Everyone is verified (identity + location)

    2. Profiles stay anonymous

    3. You can “wave” at someone nearby

    4. If they wave back, you’re introduced

No cold DMs. No guessing who’s legit. Mutual interest only.

  • Because first impressions should be about fit, not photos or popularity.

Anonymity reduces bias and pressure, keeping things human in a digital world.

You’ll see names only after both people agree to be connected (by waving at one another).

  • Short answer: much safer than most apps.

    • Identity verification

    • Location verification

    • No public profiles

    • No search by name

    • No selling your personal information

    • No bots

Locations on the map are approximate to protect privacy.

We’re intentionally building this slow and right. Any safety concerns should be reported to hello@neighborquad.com.

  • No. Full stop.

No ads. No tracking pixels sold to third parties.

You are the customer, not the product.

  • It’s free. During the this early prototype phase, our focus is on learning and your input is incredibly valuable.

If NeighborQuad becomes a full-scale app later, early members are grandfathered in for life.

  • Right now, we’re testing locally in Evansville and Newburgh, Indiana.

Starting small lets us learn fast and protect quality. Expansion comes later.

New users are welcome to sign up across the U.S., but likely won’t see many users near them until we focus on their area.

  • Nope. Not even close.

This is about friendship, community, and belonging.

Some people might eventually meet partners through real human connections, but that’s not the goal or the design.

  • Those are:

    • Public

    • Noisy

    • Unverified

    • Performative

    NeighborQuad is:

    • Private

    • Verified

    • One-to-one focused

    • Built for trust, not attention

Think real life friends, not followers.

  • Keep it boring, in a good way.

    • Walk around the block

    • Coffee

    • Public place

    • Short and casual

If it clicks, great. If not, no harm done.

  • Totally fine. No pressure, no awkward fallout.

Not every connection is meant to last, and that’s normal.

  • Not yet, in the true sense of an app we can find in the app stores.

This is an early prototype being tested with real people.

Your feedback directly impacts what NeighborQuad becomes.

    Email hello@neighborquad.com with feedback.

  • Sign up, get verified, and take a look around.

One wave can be all it takes.

  • Because proximity changes everything.

NeighborQuad is built on a simple idea: the people who live near you are the easiest friendships to actually keep.

    When friends are close:

    • You see them more

    • Plans happen spontaneously

    • Kids can play together

    • Walks, coffee, and quick hellos become normal

    • Relationships grow without constant scheduling gymnastics

A “quad” represents a small, intentional circle, not a crowd. It’s about a handful of neighbors you genuinely enjoy and can show up for without driving across town or planning weeks ahead.

Most social apps optimize for more people.

NeighborQuad optimizes for the right people, close by.

Four isn’t a limit. It’s a reminder: a few nearby friends can change how a place feels like home.
